Winter

In winter our cottage is a warm and homely place which offers you a comfortable shelter after an exhausting day spent on Maciejowa ski slope - the longest ski route in Rabka. Imagine how tired but in a great mood, right from the snowy slope you enter the house, smelling of wooden interior. With the vicinity of the ski slope, whoever stays in our cottage is free to go skiing right after the breakfast and can pop in for some refreshment any time they want. If that’s what you dream about, our cottage is the place where your dreams come true. And since our cottage can accommodate up to 7 people you can bring your family and friends with you.

But winter attractions are not limited to downhill skiing. In Rabka you will find plenty of attractions for fans of other winter sport such as cross country skiing or skating as well as sledging- not only for the youngest.

The active lifestyle usually makes you hungry so it’s great idea to go set on a journey along Małopolska Trasa Smakoszy, which is a set of popular regional restaurants where you can get to know local traditional cuisine. There are 7 diffrent „routes” you can choose from and one of them includes Siwy Dym restaurant, which is located in Rabka.

Summer

In summer, depending on what you prefer, you can choose from the very many possibilities Rabka offers. If you are a fan of mountain trips you can go on a nice trek in Gorce mountain range which offers its outstanding views. From the top of Turbacz, which is the highest peak of the range, you can see a beautiful panorama of Rabka and its surroundings. Swimming devotees will be delighted to find out that there are many thermal water spa and resorts which are located in Podhale region. If you are eager to combine relaxation with discovering the local culture and folklore, it is a great idea to explore Rabka, Nowy Targ and Zakopane, the last being not more than 40km away. Since the border with Slovakia is just around 50km away, it is very convenient for you to go for a trip to waterparks, caves and the Tatra Mountains which our neighbor country offers. The charm of the holidays in our cottage relies on the fact that whatever you choose, the cottage is a place where you can feel at home, relax and take it easy.

 

Places worth visiting:

 

  • Wieża widokowa on Polczakówka - a wooden viewing tower, 25m high, located on Królewska Góra. From the top of it you can see panoramas of Gorce, Beskid Wyspowy, Babia Góra and Tatry.
  • Skatepark in Rabka-Zdrój - the most modern in Małopolska voivodeship skate and trial park complex with a wheelchair obstacle course. It is a perfect place not only for amateurs who practice rollerblading and skateboarding, but also for the fans of sports like trial, bmx, mountain biking, summer snowboard or parkour.
  • Leśna Ścieżka Edukacyjna – a forest path, over 2km long. It is located at Podhalańska Street, on the territory of Uroczysko „Krzywoń”, along a yellow trail which leads to Piątkowa Mountain. This is not only a tourist attraction but also a great place for children and teenagers to learn about nature.

 

Trails which are worth visiting:

  • Szlak Tradycyjnego Rzemiosła - a trail of traditional craft, which is divided into 7 regional „routes” where you can get to know various artisans who have their workshops in the area. Those people not only do their best to maintain the traditional way of manufacturing works of art but for whom their job is also their passion. At the moment the routes lead to 130 towns and villages inhabited by more than 200 artisans. Rabka is a stop at Trasa Suska route.
  • Szlak Papieski – „the trail of the Pope” which includes the routes along which Karol Wojtyła, the former Pope Jan Paweł II, used to travel as a priest, then a bishop, a cardinal and to which he later returned as a pope. Rabka is a place through which two parts of Szlak Papieski run:
    1) Rabczańsko-Mszański (Zagórzański) in Beskid Wyspowym
    2) Podhalański Szlak Papieski in Gorce
  • Szlak Architektury Drewnianej - the trail of wooden architecture which includes 251 most interesting historic buildings in Małopolska voivodeship: churches, tserkoves, bell towers, manor houses, cottages, garners and heritage parks.

Rabka Zdrój

Rabka-Zdrój or Rabka Health Resort is a place where you can cure your body and mind. The town is known for its unique microclimate and the strongest iodic-bromic brine in Europe which was popular as early as in XIII century. And this is not all about this pretty spot in Gorce region: half-wild nature, wonderfull viewes, healthy food, clean water and of course local people, the highlanders who are smiling, humorous and frendly. Our Mountain Cottage lets you experience all of that thanks to its location, away from busy city centre and close to unspoilt, soothing nature. The cottage is location at the foot of Maciejowa Mountain, a well known peak in the Gorce mountain range.

 

Places worth visiting in Rabka:

 

  • Park Zdrojowy - a big, beautiful park in the heart of the town where the brine graduation tower is located. The graduation tower is the only object of such kind in Małopolska voivodeship.
  • Pijalnia wód mineralnych - a pump room where you can taste different kinds of mineral water used for treating various health problems. They are wonderful if you suffer from respiratory system and rheumatic diseases as well as osteoporosis or obesity.
  • Muzeum Górali i Zbójników - Muzeum Gorczańskie Jana Fudali- a museum of fascinating highlanders’ culture.
  • Muzeum Orderu Uśmiechu - The Order of the Smile Museum
  • Centrum Świętego Mikołaja - The Santa Claus Centre where you can see the only one in Poland monument of Santa Claus
  • Teatr Lalek „Rabcio” - „Rabcio” Puppet Theatre
  • Park Rozrywki Rabkolad - „Rabkoland” Amusement Park
